This is my personal space, where I am able to share things that are important to me and provide some insight into who I am, what I enjoy, what I am doing, and things that I find interesting.
I am a fan of hotdogs, country fried steak, coffee, donuts, pasta based recipes, and grilling. I enjoy dining out and trying new restaurants, coffee houses, and bakeries. I am a firm believer in patronizing locally owned businesses, whether restaurants or other retail outlets. I post reviews often on Google and Yelp. I truly enjoy sharing my reviews and thoughts on businesses and hope that people find the information I provide interesting, and useful. I was born in Kirkwood, MO at St. Joseph's Hospital. I lived and grew up in the City of St. George in St. Louis County, MO. I attended the Affton School District and graduated from Affton High School in 1974. In 1963 my parents bought a small local grocery store, Mohesky's Superette which they sold in late 1977. I worked there the entire time they owned it. In 1974-1976 I also started working for Imo's Pizza (on Reavis Barracks, now Reavis Pizza) as a delivery driver on weekends. For a while I also made the pizza dough to help out when they were short handed. I joined the Gardenville Fire Dept. in early 1976 and continued there until shortly after Gardenville and Affton Fire Depts consolidate in 1983. While a member of the fire dept I started doing photography on the side. Weddings, portraits, etc. When I left the fire dept I went into photography full time. I continued doing photography through 2021 when I retired. I still shoot, but it is personal work not for clients anymore. I have been a photographer on and off for over 40 years. I received my first camera for my 12th birthday. It was a Kodak Instamatic 104. My favorite camera throughout all the years was a Canon AE-1. Now, I shoot mostly personal work. Whether still photography or video I don't rely on clients anymore - I shoot for myself. [ Toy Cameras ] I am currently based in Raleigh, NC, and am originally from the midwest, born and raised in the St. Louis, MO area. Skills In addition to photography I have experience with social media management, SEO, and digital marketing. I am also proficient in various design software, including Paint Shop Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Interests I've ridden motorcycles since 1976. My last bike was a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 which I rode until It was totalled when I was broadsided by a drunk (video) in a car. It broke the bones in my left leg and I was off work for about 6 months while I recovered. I am currently without a bike. I have over 40 years experience in Glamour, Beauty & Figure Photography, Model Portfolios and Portraiture, with further background experience in Advertising, Annual Reports, Product, Wedding and Party photography. Being a photographer is not just what I do, it is who I am. I think in pictures. I love capturing images and sharing them with others. |
