Here is the basic scale I use for potato salads.
  • 1 - 5.9
    • Nope. I would avoid them.
  • 6 - 6.9
    • Okay. Edible, but nothing special. (Catering style)
  • 7 - 7.9
    • These are good. I could eat these regularly.
  • 8 - 8.9
    • Especially good. I will go out for these or wait in a line to be seated to get them.
  • 9 - 9.9
    • Best of the Best. Superior to others. Would make a special trip out for these.
